Bin Laden's reported death -- Scotched the head of the snake or a signal of coming counter strikes?

If Al Qaida had viable plans for a strike at the US it would have happened already. Al Qaida is a multi headed monster, but think back to the 80's and the red brigade. We eventually snuffed them out. Without invading 2 countries...
